Itinerary for Washington, DC, Cherry Blossom Festival

DAY 1– Thursday, April 11, 2019 –  Welcome to Washington, DC. Transfer and check into your hotel. This evening, meet your Tour Manager and fellow travelers at a welcome dinner. Continue with a guided Illuminated Monument Driving Tour. Washington’s grand buildings, memorials, and monuments sparkle and are impressive during the day; but they are stunning at night! Stop at the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial Park and the National World War II Memorial before returning to your hotel. Today’s included amenities: dinner at a local restaurant, Illuminated Monument Driving Tour  

DAY 2– Friday, April 12, 2019 –  Today you will enjoy a Pink Tied Stroll and photo opportunity among the Japanese cherry trees along the Tidal Basin. Stop at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. Mid-day, board the Odyssey III Cruise ship for a Cherry Blossom Lunch Cruise on the Potomac. A Narrator will point out all the sites along the river, while you enjoy a welcome pink signature drink and a delicious meal. Wear pink today to help make your cruise especially festive. This afternoon continue exploring Washington with visits to the White House Visitor’s Center, The Vietnam Veterans Memorial, The Korean War Veterans Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial. Tonight’s dinner will be on your own in Old Town Alexandria where there will be an abundance of restaurants to choose from and enough free time for you to experience Old Town. Today’s included amenities: breakfast at the hotel, Pink Tied Stroll, lunch aboard the Cherry Blossom Cruise, afternoon city tour.   

DAY 3– Saturday, April 13, 2019 – This morning depart for the Cherry Blossom Parade, where you will receive your signature Cherry Blossom pin and pink pom-poms to cheer on your favorite performers! Your Premium-Preferred Grandstand Seating will be the perfect viewing point as the colorful parade goes by. This afternoon’s sightseeing includes the Capitol Visitor Center on Capitol Hill (with lunch on your own at the underground Capitol Visitor Center Cafeteria) and the United States Library of Congress. End the day with an enjoyable dinner and an evening drive past monuments and must sees such as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Embassy Row, Washington National Cathedral, Marine Corps Memorial (Iwo Jima Statue), National World War II Memorial, Washington Monument and other memorials and monuments as time permits. Today’s included amenities: breakfast at the hotel, Cherry Blosson Parade with Premium-Preferred Grandstand seating, afternoon sightseeing tour, dinner at a local restaurant. 

DAY 4– Sunday April 14, 2019 – After breakfast depart for Arlington National Cemetery. No land in America is more sacred . It is America’s shrine to valor and sacrifice and services an average of 27 funerals a day. The crews, service members, and groundskeepers follow an elaborate choreography to ensure that each funeral feels like it is the only one taking place. Enjoy lunch on your own. In the afternoon visit the National Mall and spend time visiting your choice of the Smithsonian’s Institution museums. Tonight, gather with your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner before heading back to your hotel. Today’s included amenities: breakfast at the hotel,  Arlington National Cemetery, National Mall visit, farewell dinner at a local restaurant. 

DAY 5– Monday, April 15, 2019 – Today, after breakfast we bid farewell to our nation’s capital. Transfer for your flight home.  Today’s included amenities: breakfast at the hotel
